About The
Artist
Welcome to my Art website!
My name is Zony Gordon, an Impressionist artist in Watercolor and Mixed Media, residing in the picturesque Valley of Santa Clarita. There’s always a great abundance of beautiful scenery and wildlife in the area which easily provide inspiration and a strong desire to paint! I continue to explore a wide array of avenues as I showcase Art in different subjects: landscapes and seascapes as well as flowers. I have always shown a fascination for visual art since childhood but never pursued it with vigor until now. As artists say, time never sleeps when I’m infront of my palette.
From College years in Manila as a Mass Communications major, I moved to Los Angeles, and pursued Art related classes, as well as continuing my career in Advertising, working with Creative Directors for Ad layouts and campaigns in L.A. and San Francisco. I later pursued Project Management Certification Program at UC Irvine, and became a Project Manager at Sprint, a job that I enjoyed for more than 10 years.
From there, I continued to take classes in Art, and “dabbled” for several years. As a Marketing practitioner, I represented a number of artists in showcasing their art and promoted some performing artists as well. Three years ago, I quit my job at Sprint, pursued part time Real estate, and devoted more time to painting, primarily focused in Water color and Oil. Since then, I have become an active artist, and developed a more serious focus.
I continued my Community Volunteer work including teaching Art Appreciation classes and helping with the PTA Reflections program in the Santa Clarita elementary schools. At this time, I am a volunteer judge in various schools’ Reflections programs. I also teach kids in the community’s summer art classes at the Community Center of SCV and Sports complex. I am serving as 2011 President of the Santa Clarita Artists Association.
