About Zony Gordon

A local artist and a long-time resident in Santa Clarita Valley, our featured artist is an award-winning Impressionist artist in Watercolor and Mixed Media. “There’s always a great abundance of beautiful scenery, gardens and wildlife in this area which easily provides an inspiration and zest for my art.”

Zony was a 2-time President of the Santa Clarita Artists’ Association and is  currently a board member. She continues to explore a wide array of subjects as she showcases her art in various themes like landscapes, seascapes, abstracts and flowers. She also accepts commissioned work along those subjects.

She has always shown a fascination for the arts since early childhood but never pursued it with vigor until now. Like a lot of inspired visual artists in the Valley, the passion for art came after “moving on” from full-time project management in IT and Telecom few years ago, leading her to a more creative direction.. “Time never sleeps when I am infront of my palette. I love playing around with values of color, whether with strong intensity or subtle shades, and let it interact with the abundance or lack of light that provides a dramatic effect on the visual”.

She is an active community volunteer in Art Education for elementary students in the Valley, and is a regular Judge for PTA Reflections programs in elementary and middle schools, Congressional Annual Art competition for high school students in the District, as well as other Community art competitions. She is featured regularly at the SCAA Art Gallery at the local Westfield Mall together with her co-artists, and has held One-woman art shows at Canyon Theatre Guild, Fast Frame Valencia Gallery, Simi Valley Art Gallery and Valencia Art & Framing. On a yearly basis, her art could also be found at the SCAA Art Classic judged competition at the historic Newhall in Santa Clarita.

She is CBEST (California Basic Educational Skills Test) certified and loves to teach art to students of various ages.
